Coaching job in Leipzig? Glasner reportedly rejected Red Bull offer
The successful coach reportedly could have returned to Germany before his move to Nottingham Forest.
Plenty happening in the Red Bull cosmos currently!
Head of Football Jürgen Klopp is on the verge of a move to the DFB, and in Leipzig and Salzburg, Martin Demichelis and Danny Röhl are two new coaches in office. Both reportedly came at Klopp's request as well.
Departure is imminent
However, the former Liverpool FC star coach will leave Red Bull and fulfill his dream as Germany's national team coach. According to the "Salzburger Nachrichten", his departure has been expected for months.
This is also one reason why top boss Oliver Mintzlaff reportedly already looked into a concrete successor in spring. As the "SN" report, Oliver Glasner was considered the preferred candidate, and Mintzlaff is even said to have visited Glasner in London.
Leipzig job rejected
The Upper Austrian was reportedly not entirely disinclined to succeed Klopp. However, a coaching job always took precedence. Nevertheless, he reportedly quickly rejected an offer to take over the coaching position in Leipzig starting this summer.
However, the matter is now settled anyway. On Monday, the 51-year-old signed his contract as the new head coach of Nottingham Forest (All info >>>).
And at Red Bull, the search for a Klopp successor begins.
