Bayer Leverkusen set to sign World Cup runner-up
The Werkself's defence is to be further strengthened.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen's transfer spending is approaching the 100-million-euro mark.
As various media outlets – including "kicker" and "Bild" – report, Facundo Medina (27) is on the verge of a move to Leverkusen. An agreement is said to have already been reached, with only the medical check remaining.
Bayer is reportedly set to transfer 20 million euros plus bonuses to Olympique Marseille. The Argentinian is expected to sign until 2031.
Medina made five appearances for World Cup runner-up Argentina at the 2026 World Cup. The left-footed player moved from RC Lens to OM in the summer of 2025.
