Former WAC Player Moves to German Bundesliga

The center-back has been playing in Germany since last year. Now, a new challenge awaits.

1. FC Köln has signed Luka Lochoshvili as their first new arrival for the new season.

The 28-year-old center-back joins Köln from 1. FC Nürnberg in the 2. Bundesliga and has signed a contract with "Effzeh" until June 2029.

Regular Starter Under Miroslav Klose

For the "Club", he played 33 second-division matches last season (5 goals, 2 assists) and was among the strongest tacklers in the 2. Bundesliga.

The 1.92-meter tall center-back played for WAC in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga from 2020 to 2022.

FC General Manager Thomas Kessler says: "We are very pleased that we were able to convince Luka of our path at 1. FC Köln. In recent years, he has gained valuable experience at various clubs and brings exactly the profile we were looking for for this position."

Luka Lochoshvili is also looking forward to the new challenge in Cologne: "As a footballer, you always want to play at the highest possible level. That's why I am very happy that I can take my next step at 1. FC Köln in the Bundesliga. The discussions with those responsible were very positive and convinced me of the path. I am looking forward to a big traditional club, the great fans, and my new team."

The left-footed player has so far made 32 appearances for the Georgian national team and scored four goals.
