Eintracht: Hütter gets defender - U-turn for attacking star

Things are still going haywire for Eintracht Frankfurt in the final stages of the summer transfer window.

There has been a lot of activity at the club of Austrian head coach Adi Hütter for weeks.

Most recently, there have been speculations about the return of a protégé of Oliver Glasner, and a World Cup participant is also leaving the "Eagles".

New Centre-Back for Hütter

As SGE officially announced on Monday evening, a replacement for the latter is already in the starting blocks.

Last season's eighth-placed team has signed Lilian Brassier (26) from French first division club FC Stade Rennes.

The centre-back signs until summer 2031, with Hütter's club transferring a basic fee of 8.5 million Euros to Brittany for the services of the left-footer.

The Frenchman had only moved from league rival Stade Brest to Rennes in summer 2025 for twelve million Euros.

Saudi departure off the table, ex-Real player on the radar

At the same time, Eintracht reportedly urgently needs transfer revenue this summer. However, a lucrative departure is now said to have fallen through.

According to consistent media reports, Ritsu Doan has decided against his move to Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League.

The Japanese offensive all-rounder is said to have scuppered the deal, which was already considered final, and is aiming to stay at Eintracht. Frankfurt could have received around 17 million Euros in transfer fees.

Midfielder Fares Chaibi is now reportedly the new top candidate for a sale. At the same time, Frankfurt is said to be interested in the unattached ex-Real Madrid veteran Joselu.
