Is Former Rangnick Assistant Signing Player From Red Bull Salzburg?
The "Bulls'" central defender is said to be one of several candidates for the defense. He is currently not getting any playing time in Salzburg.
A few deals could still go through at FC Red Bull Salzburg shortly before the end of the transfer window.
A central defender of international calibre is reportedly set to join from RB Leipzig.
Should that transfer materialise, the competition in defense would intensify further. Consequently, another player could also make a move: Hendry Blank.
The German (22) moved from Borussia Dortmund's youth academy to Salzburg in winter 2024. Since his return from the loan spell at Hannover 96, the former U21 national player has not been included in the "Bulls'" matchday squad even once.
His contract in Salzburg runs until 2028.
Blank One of Several Candidates
A departure would likely make sense for both sides. As reported by "FT", Eintracht Braunschweig is also a potential suitor.
With Maximilian Entrup, Lars Kornetka, former assistant coach to Ralf Rangnick at the ÖFB team, has already lured a player from the ADMIRAL Bundesliga to Braunschweig this transfer window. It remains unclear whether the club is pursuing a loan or a permanent transfer.
The "Braunschweiger Zeitung" was able to confirm the German second-tier club's interest in Blank, however, the 22-year-old is said to be just one of several candidates for the defense.
