While the Bundesliga relegated side (Hannover) only manages a draw at home, St. Pauli nonetheless extends their unbeaten streak to five games.

Hannover 96 and FC St. Pauli draw 1-1 in the eighth round of the 2. Bundesliga.

Both teams remain stuck in the middle of the table as a result. St. Pauli sits in seventh place with eleven points, while the 96ers are twelfth with eight points.

Things almost started badly for the team around Austrian international David Nemeth. However, Chakroun's supposed opening goal for Hannover is disallowed due to offside. Thus, Pauli captain Nemeth can celebrate Ceesay's 1-0 goal late in the first half (45.+1).

First Point Under Wagner

Shortly after the break, however, Hannover strikes back through Chakroun - and this time the goal counts. The score remains 1-1, even after new Hannover coach Sandro Wagner also brings on Austrian player Benedikt Pichler as a substitute.

Hannover thus earns their first point under Wagner in his second game. St. Pauli, on the other hand, collects points in their fifth competitive match in a row. In this period, however, there was only one victory, a 1-0 win over Wolfsburg.
