Great gesture! HSV with a wonderful tribute to their severely injured captain
The Hanseatic team will have to do without leader Nicolai Remberg for a long time. During the warm-up before the home game against Stuttgart, the team shows how important he is to them.
It was the shock during the last away win in Hoffenheim: After an innocuous challenge, HSV captain Nicolai Remberg stayed down, clutching his knee. Moments later, he had to be helped off the pitch.
A few days later, it became clear: Remberg has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear and will be missing for the "Rothosen" for a long time.
The team showed how important their leader is to them during the warm-up before the home game against VfB Stuttgart (to the LIVE ticker>>>). The entire team warmed up in Remberg's jersey (see below).
Personnel problems in central midfield
Actually, instead of Remberg, his central midfield partner Albert Sambi Lokonga should have led HSV onto the field as captain today, but he is also out (muscular problems). The armband is instead worn by ex-Salzburg player Nicolas Capaldo.
Positionally, Koif Amaoko would have been the obvious choice as the number six instead of Remberg, but he is not yet ready, as Polzin explained to "Sky" before the game.
The 35-year-old relies instead on Bilal Nadir.
