137 Million Euros! Morgan Rogers Becomes Record Transfer
The England international moves from Aston Villa to Chelsea for a new British record fee.
Chelsea have signed England international Morgan Rogers from Premier League rivals Aston Villa.
According to media reports on Tuesday evening, the "Blues" are set to pay 117 million pounds (137.32 million euros) for the 23-year-old midfielder.
This not only represents the most expensive transfer in history for an English player, but also the second most expensive Premier League transfer ever. Only Sweden's Alexander Isak was more expensive when he moved from Newcastle to Liverpool (145 million euros).
Anderson's Record Already History
The previous record fee for an English player, 135 million euros, for the transfer of national team colleague Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City, which took place at the beginning of July, has, however, been surpassed.
Rogers featured for England in seven out of eight matches at the World Cup. At Chelsea, he will receive a contract running until 2033.
