Jaissle After Yellow Card: "I'm a Bit Scared"

Former Salzburg coach Matthias Jaissle, along with his Tyrolean assistant Alexander Hauser, has made a quite successful start to his new chapter at Newcastle United.

After four matches, the team remains unbeaten with two wins and two draws. However, after the 2-2 draw against Marco Rose's Bournemouth, a particular circumstance in the Premier League caused him at least slight concern.

Jaissle's a Little Afraid

In the 71st minute, the German received a yellow card for leaving the coaching zone. The rule is common internationally, but it is particularly intensely enforced in the Premier League.

"It's a bit disappointing. I first need to see what the real problem was. If I say something against the referee, a yellow card is okay. But if I'm sometimes 20 centimetres outside the zone to cheer on my team, I'm not sure if this rule is good," said Jaissle.

The Newcastle coach doesn't want to change his emotional style, but he aims to respect the zone more.

"I'm a bit scared. I hope that at the beginning, the referees will turn a blind eye now and then," smiles the former Salzburg coach.

High GPS Values in Saudi Arabia

At his old club Al Ahli, he had very different coaching zones in Saudi Arabia. "I still have to learn that. I had a lot of space in Saudi Arabia, so the GPS values were probably quite high!" he jokes.

Jaissle then also brought up the coaching zone at the press conference before the cup match against Millwall. When asked if he had awe for the opponent's stadium, which has a reputation for sensations, Jaissle dryly replied: "No, I will be protected by my coaching zone."
