Oliver Glasner sharply criticizes VAR
The VAR once again sparks discussions. According to Glasner, the video assistant referees made two wrong calls against Tottenham Hotspur.
Nottingham Forest are still waiting for their first win after their third Premier League game under Oliver Glasner.
After Saturday's match against Tottenham Hotspur (0-0), the Austrian coach was particularly critical of the VAR's decisions.
In the 68th minute, Neco Williams scored what he thought was the opening goal, but after a possible handball, the goal was disallowed.
"Feels like we lost two points"
Glasner showed little understanding for this afterwards to the "BBC": "It feels like we lost two points. I've re-watched some scenes and I think the goal should stand.
It was not a clear and obvious error. Before the season, we were told that the threshold for VAR intervention should be high again. In my opinion, the situation was not clear enough."
Glasner claims he saw a penalty
The 52-year-old also expressed dissatisfaction with another decision made by the referee team:
"For me, it's also a clear penalty when Neco Williams is fouled. (Note: Mohammed) Kudus doesn't even jump for the ball. If such a situation happens anywhere else on the pitch, it's always called a foul. In these two situations, we weren't particularly lucky."
