Premier League club Nottingham Forest has extended the contract of left-back Neco Williams by one year early.

The new contract for the 25-year-old Welshman now runs until 2030.

Forest Sporting Director George Syrianos is pleased about the extension of Williams' contract: "Neco is one of the best players in his position in the Premier League."

Very popular in Nottingham

"His reliability, consistency, and tireless will to keep improving explain why he is so popular with both his teammates and the fans," Syrianos continued.

Williams moved from Liverpool FC to Nottingham in 2022 for a transfer fee of 20 million euros. Since then, he has made 163 competitive appearances for Forest.

Even in the current season, Williams has been in Oliver Glasner's starting eleven every time so far.

Forest aims to develop and retain players

"We want to develop and grow as a club, and an important part of that process is ensuring that our top performers stay with the club," the Sporting Director concluded.
