SV Ried remains active in the transfer market.

Oliver Sorg moves from FC Augsburg to Innviertel and signs a contract until summer 2029. After Lukas Malicsek, Stefan Schwab, Jaedin Rhodes, and Samuel Chukwudi, Austria's U19 international is the fifth new signing.

The left-back returns home after one year with the German Bundesliga club; the 18-year-old made 25 appearances for FC Augsburg's second team. During this time, Sorg recorded one goal and one assist.

Development at GAK, KSV and Sturm

After two years each in the youth academies of GAK and Kapfenberger SV, Sorg joined SK Sturm's youth team in 2021.

With the Graz club, the defender progressed to the second team, making 31 appearances for Sturm II in the ADMIRAL 2. Liga. In summer 2025, he moved to Augsburg on a free transfer.

Ried as a platform for young Austrians

The signing of the youth international shows "our value" as a platform for young Austrian players, emphasizes Sports Director Wolfgang Fiala.

"Oliver is an offensively strong full-back with great playing abilities and strong athleticism. We want to take responsibility for domestic football and develop talents. This way, we can also make a small contribution to ensuring that our national team is represented at World Cups in the future," says Fiala.

Sorg looks forward to his new task with anticipation. "For me, this is the next good step. My goal is to establish myself in the Bundesliga, get playing time, and show my skills," says the 18-year-old.
