The Royal Blues appear to have snapped up a young striker who recently played in Germany.
FC Blau-Weiß Linz is likely to strengthen its squad for the promotion mission with Mauro Hämmerle.
As "Sky" reports, the relegated Bundesliga club has agreed with FC Augsburg on a transfer for the Austrian U19 striker.
According to the report, coach Michael Köllner strongly advocated for the attacker's transfer. Hämmerle is expected to sign in Linz until 2029, and Augsburg is believed to have secured a buy-back clause.
The 18-year-old has been active for the "Fuggerstädter" (Augsburg) since November 2023, having played last season for their second team in the Regionalliga Bayern. There, he scored two goals and provided one assist in 24 matches.
