Strong Competition: Salzburg Eyes France U17 International
The young right-back most recently participated in the U17 European Championship with "Les Bleus". His contract expires next summer.
Mathis Chambon has attracted the interest of Red Bull Salzburg.
According to a report by "L'Equipe", the "Bulls" are looking into the 17-year-old right-back from HSC Montpellier. His contract with the Ligue 1 club expires in summer 2027. Chambon spent the past season with the U19 squad.
The Frenchman most recently participated in the U17 European Championship in Estonia with "Les Bleus", where France was eliminated in the semi-finals by Belgium with a 1-2 score. Chambon started in three of the four matches, registering one assist.
In addition to Salzburg, Ajax Amsterdam, Borussia Dortmund, and Villarreal are also reportedly monitoring the 1.69-meter tall defender.
