Austria's Nordic Combined athletes can count on the support of a former Ski Jumping World Champion in the future!

Markus Eisenbichler is leaving his job as a TV expert at "Eurosport" and will now take care of the equipment for Lamparter and the rest of the team.

"The areas of flight and equipment have always been my passion," Eisenbichler is quoted as saying.

This will be the first time he takes on a position of this kind after his retirement in March 2025. He will also be involved in material development.

Liegl: "Couldn't have found anyone better"

"Markus has a lot of experience and enormous know-how. We couldn't have found anyone better," enthuses Sports Director Florian Liegl.

Coach Christoph Bieler is also enthusiastic: "We've already had many interesting discussions."

For equipment manager Balthasar Schneider, Eisenbichler's interest was always clear. "Markus has always been a tinkerer," he says.

In his active career as a ski jumper, the 35-year-old German won one bronze medal at the Olympic Games, three Ski Flying World Championship medals, and seven World Championship medals (6x gold, 1x bronze).

In the World Cup, he celebrated three individual victories and reached the podium 55 times across all competitions.
