ÖSV Slalom Skiers Summoned to South America at Short Notice

While the majority of athletes travel to South America in the summer, training on Swiss glaciers has also consistently been an option in recent years.
However, due to known circumstances (Also a problem for the ÖSV: Zermatt ceases summer operations >>>), snow training in Europe is impossible this year - which is why a rethinking is necessary within the ÖSV.
"No Alternative" - Slalom Team Must Go to Chile
As "Krone" reports, the ÖSV therefore made a short-term decision to send the slalom skiers to Chile. "There is no alternative," explains ÖSV men's head coach Marko Pfeifer.
The slalom team is scheduled to arrive in El Colorado on September 12 and hold a training camp there.
The first slalom of the season will take place on November 15, 2026, in Levi.
