After Horror Crash: Sarrazin Working on Comeback
After a brain hemorrhage and coma, Cyprien Sarrazin is fighting his way back. A World Cup comeback in Copper Mountain is possible, but not yet confirmed.
"The legs are burning, the body is suffering, but it's precisely now that the foundation is being laid." French ski star Cyprien Sarrazin shared these words on Instagram.
Brain Hemorrhage and Coma
The 2024 Kitzbühel winner crashed heavily on December 27 of the same year during a training run in Bormio. During his crash on the "Stelvio," the Frenchman suffered, among other injuries, a brain hemorrhage, which required emergency surgery.
After a temporary coma and a long rehabilitation, it was long uncertain whether the 32-year-old would ever return to ski racing. In spring 2026, however, Sarrazin was back on skis and completed downhill training in Val d'Isere.
Copper Mountain: A Possible Comeback Target
He is now posting pictures from the gym, giving hope for his return. Sarrazin is eyeing the Speed World Cup opener in Copper Mountain as a possible target.
However, there is no firm commitment yet for the Super-G on November 28, 2026. Health is the top priority. Together with his coaching team, the Frenchman wants to assess when the right time for his World Cup return has come.
