During a downhill training session in Chile, Alexander Aamodt Kilde suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon.

The latest setback hits Alexander Aamodt Kilde hard. In an emotional statement, he now speaks openly about his disappointment and provides insight into his emotional state.

Recently, much had been developing positively. After a long period of rehabilitation, he finally felt truly comfortable on skis again. The joy of skiing had also returned.

It is now all the more difficult for him to accept the renewed setback. "Right now, I'm devastated, angry, and frustrated. I need some time to process this," he writes.

Kilde Already Planning Comeback

Nevertheless, the Norwegian is already looking ahead. "I've never been one to feel sorry for myself. My parents taught me to focus on solutions: If you can change something, do it. If not, you have to accept it or let it go," Kilde explains.

A clear rehab plan is already in place. This helps him to focus on the next steps.

Finally, Kilde thanks everyone for the numerous messages and support, which mean a lot to him during this difficult phase.

The Full Statement to Read:

"For a long time, it was all about recovering and getting back to where I was before. Lately, that had finally changed. I was faster, I had improved, and I felt better on my skis than I had in a long time. Most importantly, I was having more fun on skis than I had in years.

And then something like this happens. It's brutal and hard to accept.

I've never been one to feel sorry for myself. My parents taught me to focus on solutions: If you can change something, do it. If not, you have to accept it or let it go.

To be clear: Right now, I'm devastated, angry, and frustrated. I need a little time to process this.

What's different this time: I have a clear plan for rehab, and that helps. It won't be easy, but I will focus on what I can influence and rely on the people who stand behind me.

Thank you for all the messages. They mean more to me than you know."
