Sebastian Ofner had to concede defeat in the second round of the grass-court classic at Wimbledon.

Austria's number one fell to Poland's Hubert Hurkacz (ATP-96) 7:6 (8), 6:4, 6:4.

The first set was hard-fought. Both players held their serves, leading to a tie-break. There, the world No. 110 had to concede defeat 8:10 despite having two set points.

Ofner Makes Too Many Unforced Errors

In the second set, the Pole also remained true to his strong service game. Ofner, however, lost important points with several unforced errors, allowing his opponent to pull ahead to 1:4.

The Austrian managed to fight back to 3:4 but ultimately had to concede defeat 4:6.

The decision remained exciting until the very end, but at 4:4, the Styrian conceded the decisive break and, despite a fighting performance, also had to give up the last set 4:6.

The former top-ten player prevailed after 1 hour and 58 minutes, advancing to the third round. There, he will face the winner of the match between Paul (USA) and Kwon from South Korea.
