Defeat for Potapova! Second ÖTV player out of Wimbledon
For Anastasia Potapova, too, it's the end in the first round of the grass-court classic.
Anastasia Potapova (WTA-28) suffers a defeat in her opening match at Wimbledon.
The 25-year-old is defeated by Spain's Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, 52nd in the WTA world rankings, with scores of 2:6, 3:6.
Already in the first game, Potapova is confronted with three break chances for Bouzas Maneiro, but she is still able to defend them. At a score of 1:1 and 4:2, she loses her service game respectively.
Potapova also doesn't find her rhythm at all in the second set. The Spaniard breaks directly to 1:0, and later to 5:2. Then Potapova also breaks her opponent's serve – but ends the match with a 0:40 in return.
