Aprilia rider Jorge Martin aims to compete in the MotoGP race in Malaysia despite a broken wrist!

The Spaniard received medical clearance for this on Thursday.

"Can barely do anything"

Martin plans to test what's possible during Friday's first practice session in Sepang.

"Things could be worse, but also better. But yes, now we've taken the first step, which is to try and ride. Then we'll see what my condition is like, how I feel, and then we'll decide how to proceed, whether I continue in the Grand Prix or not," Martin said in an interview with MotoGP before the race weekend.

Battle against Marquez

The Spaniard had, during the Sprint at Phillip Island last Saturday, sustained a wrist fracture in a heavy crash.

"If I weren't fighting for the title, my arm would be in a cast and I would be out for four or five weeks," explained the Aprilia rider.

Martin is currently ten points behind Ducati rider Marc Marquez. In the battle for the title, everything is still open with four race weekends remaining before the end of the season.
