Schalke: Scandal involving ex-Salzburg player! Muslic reacts
In addition to the DFB-Pokal exit, an incident involving Hee-Chan Hwang and a team official causes a stir. Miron Muslic also reacts.
Things are not going well at FC Schalke 04.
Following the 0-2 defeat against Dynamo Dresden in the second round of the DFB-Pokal, one can at least speak of a minor crisis in Gelsenkirchen.
In the Bundesliga, the "Knappen" (miners), led by head coach Miron Muslic, have been without a win for four games and are currently in 16th place, occupying a relegation playoff spot.
In addition to the negative run of results, an act of indiscipline is now causing a stir.
Muslic: "I didn't like that"
Hee-Chan Hwang - a summer signing and former striker for FC Red Bull Salzburg - caused an unpleasant moment during the match.
The agitated South Korean (30) shoved a physiotherapist and the fourth official aside shortly before halftime.
Hwang continued playing until the 77th minute before being replaced by Austrian international striker Junior Adamu.
Head coach Miron Muslic had clear words regarding the shoving incident involving Hwang afterwards: "I didn't like that. We will discuss it later."
Five years under contract in Austria
The 85-cap international had moved from Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Ruhr region on Deadline Day.
"At Schalke", Hwang is still waiting for his first goal, symbolically representing the club's struggling offensive department. In seven league matches, Schalke has only scored four goals so far.
Before moving to RB Leipzig and Wolverhampton Wanderers, Hwang (with the exception of a loan spell at HSV) played for FC Liefering and Red Bull Salzburg between January 2015 and summer 2020.
