Gresini Racing will field a rookie in 2027!

As announced on Thursday, Ducati's satellite team is promoting 21-year-old Daniel Holgado, currently competing for CFMOTO Aspar in Moto2, to the premier class.

The Spaniard is thus the first rookie for the upcoming MotoGP season. In the current Moto2 year, Holgado already has one win and one third-place finish to his name.

With five podium finishes – including two victories – he was named Rookie of the Year in Moto2 in 2025. In 2024, Holgado crowned himself Moto3 Vice-World Champion on a GasGas, having spent a total of four years with KTM support in the smallest class of the Motorcycle World Championship.
