ÖEHV Star Returns to Europe
The red-white-red captain turns her back on North America and joins her former club.
Anna Meixner is leaving the North American PWHL and will once again play for Brynäs IF.
The Salzburg native previously played for the Swedish SDHL club between 2020 and 2024, and in 2023, among other accolades, was voted the league's Most Valuable Player and Best Forward. She has now signed a two-year contract with Brynäs.
The captain of the Austrian women's national team has gained valuable experience in the PWHL over the past two years. After her time with Ottawa Charge, the 32-year-old most recently played for the Vancouver Goldeneyes.
In 66 PWHL games, Meixner recorded four goals and four assists. With Austria, the leading player will participate in the Ice Hockey World Championship Top Division for the first time in November.
