"We will give Sebastian the necessary time so that he can put this injury behind him and return to the ice at one hundred percent," said Dolezal.
Experienced Man
With Reideborn, the Capitals can be pleased about a strong replacement. He was under contract for five seasons in the Swedish SHL (including with Djurgardens IF), and in 2017/18 he was named SHL Goaltender of the Year. After four years with Ak Bars Kazan and CSKA Moscow, Reideborn played three seasons for SC Bern.
He was in goal for the Swedish national team at the 2021 World Championship, and was also part of the squad at the 2022 Olympics.
For the Capitals, the 34-year-old has so far been on the ice in six of seven possible league games, with a save percentage of 92.24 percent.
"Maximum Effort from the Entire Organization"
"I am very happy that we have found a way together to continue our collaboration. I am very happy to be here. The support from the fans, the team, and the entire organization is remarkable. Now it's about making a strong start as a team this season and seeing how far our journey takes us sportingly," Reideborn is quoted as saying. Vienna is a great place for him and his family, and it feels right to be here, said the goalie.
Dolezal said: "The extension with Adam was preceded by the utmost effort from the entire Capitals organization. My thanks go to our executive board, management, as well as partners and supporters who made it possible to finalize this extension economically. On the other hand, Adam finds the ideal setup for himself and his family in Vienna. In this regard, too, we worked hard to provide him with the best possible conditions."
They were able to keep a top player in the league who is also exceptional on a personal level. "From day one, he has been an asset to our locker room. As the entire Caps family, we are delighted to continue our journey with Adam."
