The competition within the Swiss men's ski team is fierce – and Arnaud Boisset is feeling the effects.

The 28-year-old crashed in the Beaver Creek downhill in December 2024, sustaining several contusions and a concussion. In February 2025, he ended his ski season prematurely.

Subsequently, Boisset struggled with the strong competition from within his own ranks. "I couldn't come back after twelve months and be at my old level again. That takes time," he told "Blick".

However, he didn't get that time – because he constantly felt pressure from the other Swiss skiers.

Internal Race as a Decider

With Marco Odermatt, Franjo von Allmen, Alexis Monney, and Stefan Rogentin, the Swiss team has several top skiers. That's also why Boisset feels a World Cup spot is currently easier to obtain elsewhere than it is with the Swiss team.

"In Austria or France, I would probably be a definite member of the squad," says Boisset.

For the upcoming season, Boisset is fighting for his World Cup ticket. To secure it, he needs to impress in an internal race in just over two weeks.

"I don't want to take someone else's spot. I want my own spot back," Boisset is quoted as saying. "I am not a Europa Cup skier."
