EC-KAC presents Jan Drozg as its third new signing for the 2026/27 season.

The Slovenian international signs a contract with the Austrian record champions until the end of the season. For the next ten days, the contract still contains a player-sided release clause for a potential move to the KHL.

The 27-year-old brings extensive international experience: After stints in Sweden and Canada, he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2017 and subsequently played in the AHL and ECHL.

Between 2022 and 2025, the forward played in the KHL before most recently being active with Olimpija Ljubljana. There, he recorded 27 points in 31 games.

"Wants to impress for a top league"

"Jan Drozg is a highly talented player who has gained a lot of international experience in Sweden, Canada, the USA, and Russia and has always been able to adapt to the level of ice hockey there," says KAC General Manager Oliver Pilloni.

"His strong offensive instincts are complemented by a good work ethic, which we know from many of the Slovenian players we have had under contract with EC-KAC in recent years. Jan Drozg wants to use our club to recommend himself again for a top international league, so we expect him to deliver top performances with us," Pilloni continues.

"Only heard positive things"

The new signing himself is also motivated: "I am very happy to join EC-KAC. As is well known, some Slovenian players have been active in Klagenfurt in recent years, and they all told me only positive things about the team, the ice hockey culture, and the city. For me, playing for a club that always belongs among the top teams is a great opportunity," says Drozg.
