Already in the 42nd minute, the DFB eleven concedes the first goal by Enciso. He is left unmarked by the defense and scores with a header to make it 1:0.
Germany, who clearly had more of the game, equalizes in the 54th minute through Havertz. This sends the game into extra time with the score at 1:1.
There, Julian Nagelsmann's team celebrates again. However, the goal is disallowed after a foul by Anton on keeper Gill.
In the subsequent penalty shootout, three Germans fail, Neuer can make one save. Ultimately, however, Paraguay converts the match point.
