Luis Figo Publicly Calls for Infantino's Resignation
Pressure on the FIFA boss continues to mount. Now, Portugal legend Luis Figo also speaks out.
Luis Figo addresses the football public with unusually direct words.
In a statement on the "X" platform, the Portuguese legend publicly calls for FIFA President Gianni Infantino to resign.
He writes: "Today I join other representatives from across football in calling for Gianni Infantino to step down as FIFA President. Infantino has debased the office he promised to strengthen. He has lied, deceived, and attempted to enrich himself personally at the expense of the sport he was supposed to serve."

Infantino has been under criticism for some time. His failed investor deal (read more here >>>) was the final straw for many.
Luis Figo continues in his statement: "He has lost the support of his executives, his closest advisors, the vast majority of people who dedicate their lives to this sport, and apparently even the recipient of the FIFA Peace Prize. It is too late to save his dignity, but it is not too late to save football. He should go. Now."
