Former BW Linz Goalkeeper Nearing Manchester United Departure
Radek Vitek is expected to join another English Championship club. His new team narrowly missed promotion last season.
Former Blau-Weiß Linz goalkeeper Radek Vitek is permanently leaving Manchester United to continue his career in England's second tier.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the "Red Devils" have agreed with Middlesbrough on the transfer of the 22-year-old Czech.
The transfer fee is reportedly seven million pounds and could rise to up to 14 million pounds through add-ons. Manchester United holds both a buy-back clause and a 35 percent sell-on clause.
Active under Struber
Vitek was already active in the Championship last season, making 41 appearances on loan for Bristol City. Gerhard Struber was his coach until spring.
Vitek never played for Manchester United's senior team and was loaned out a total of three times. In the 2024/25 season, the Czech goalkeeper played for FC Blau-Weiß Linz, where he made 26 Bundesliga appearances.
