UEFA, CONCACAF, and AFC Plan Own Competition

According to a report by "The Times," the three umbrella organizations for Europe (UEFA), North and Central America (CONCACAF), and Asia (AFC) have reportedly joined forces to bring about Infantino's resignation.

They intend to exert pressure by establishing their own competition. The confederation trio is primarily targeting South America: "Would the big South American countries rather play against France or Spain, or against Lebanon or Djibouti? Everyone is firmly committed; there's no turning back now," a source from FIFA circles is quoted as saying.

Trump Does Not Respond to Infantino's Calls

Pressure on Infantino is noticeably increasing. As reported by the "New York Post" among others, the 56-year-old is said to have repeatedly tried in vain to reach US President Donald Trump on his mobile phone in search of allies.

While the FIFA President is also said to have requested a private conversation with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, a White House spokesperson dismisses this on "X": "There are no plans for @SecRubio to speak with Infantino and there will be no phone call this morning."
