The Austrians were also involved in the other goals. Purtscheller also set up Isabella Jaron's interim 3:0 with a cross (35').
SC Freiburg came back again after the break. Selina Vobian's goal to make it 3:1 was set up by Vorarlberg native Carina Brunold (51').
In the 85th minute, Sarah Gutmann sealed the deal with her brace. From a corner kick, the 20-year-old scored from close range with a header to make it 4:1. Freiburg reduced the deficit to 4:3 with a double strike in stoppage time, but the Bremen women left the pitch as winners.
ÖFB goalkeeper Mariella El Sherif and Julia Magerl were not in the squad. A wave of illness within the Werder Bremen team had already led to a match cancellation last weekend.
