Klagenfurt Negotiates with German Ex-National Player
Sponsor Helmut Kaltenegger has big ambitions with Austria Klagenfurt. They also dream big in the transfer market.
Helmut Kaltenegger, sponsor of Austria Klagenfurt, recently made headlines with his company TGI AG. A raid was carried out at the company headquarters in Vaduz.
After a long period of silence, the entrepreneur has now spoken out: "Everything is running smoothly. The required reversal process will be completed in one week." His full focus will then return to the struggling regional league club.
As he confirmed to the "Krone", squad planning is in full swing. "I'm bringing three new players from my Leoben days."
Big Plans in the Transfer Market
But that's not all: Discussions are reportedly already underway with a former German international. "I am also negotiating with an older striker who once played for Germany – with his salary expectations, any other club could buy half a team," the gold dealer revealed.
The strategy is clear: "Our goal remains promotion to the 2. Liga, after which we will increase the budget again."
Turkish Sponsor Was Already in Klagenfurt
15 departures have already been confirmed, including Rei Okada. Several players, including Mateo Lekaj, Daniel Owusu, Marcel Kobal, Alex Ristic, and another Slovenian, are on trial in Klagenfurt.
His appointment as Austria president is still pending, and he is not yet a shareholder of the GmbH. "That will happen soon – we will meet shortly. Then I naturally hope to get the approvals," said Kaltenegger.
There is also news on the sponsorship front: The announced Turkish investor was recently shown the Wörthersee Stadium, but it is reportedly only a sponsorship deal.
