After "Guarantees" - UEFA Boycott Off the Table For Now

In the weeks-long conflict between world football's governing body FIFA and UEFA, a slight rapprochement is now said to have occurred.

Due to the controversial investor plans of FIFA and President Infantino, the European association had threatened to boycott all FIFA competitions. According to The Guardian, FIFA is now said to have provided "concrete guarantees" that no further external investors can acquire World Cup shares.

Relationship Remains Tense

The first major event affected would have been the Women's U20 World Cup in early September. However, it is expected to take place as scheduled. Organisers in Poland also report that there is no information yet about the potential withdrawal of teams.

Despite the slight easing of tension in this conflict, UEFA is demanding Gianni Infantino's resignation. On Thursday, the 55 European association heads will meet in Monaco for the Champions League league phase draw. The further course of action regarding FIFA is also expected to be discussed as part of the event's agenda.
