NBA Star Joins Atletico Madrid
The 28-year-old joins the ownership group of the "Rojiblancos". The club announced this on Thursday.
NBA star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has joined Atletico Madrid.
The reigning NBA MVP will now be part of the ownership group of the historic Spanish club.
As Atlético announced on Thursday, the partnership is based "on shared values" such as ambition and the pursuit of excellence.
Gilgeous-Alexander had already shown his connection to Atletico prior to the official announcement. The NBA star has repeatedly been seen in the club's colors in the past.

"I am very excited to now officially be part of the ownership group of Atlético Madrid. This club has been at the forefront of European football for many years, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of its future," said Gilgeous-Alexander.
The Canadian won the NBA championship with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2025 and was named the league's most valuable player for the second consecutive time this year.
