Are two Real stars being sidelined?
Two players with long-term contracts are reportedly not playing a major role in Jose Mourinho's plans.
Apparently, two prominent departures are imminent at "The Royals".
As an article from "The Athletic" reveals, centre-back Raul Asencio and goalkeeper Andriy Lunin are reportedly not playing a role in the star coach's squad planning. Both have struggled to establish themselves in the team and have not yet played any minutes this season.
Long-term Contracts
It has been particularly difficult for the 23-year-old centre-back so far. Although he still has a contract until 2031, he will again be out for a long time in the coming months due to a stress fracture.
Real Madrid was reportedly already interested in selling the Spaniard in the last transfer window.
Goalkeeper Lunin will likely also be looking for a new club. Behind Belgian world-class goalie Thibaut Courtois, he continues to be confined to a reserve role.
It is considered unlikely under Mourinho that the Ukrainian, who has a valid contract until 2030, could succeed Courtois.
