Affengruber? "We have made him multiple offers"

Defender David Affengruber (25) was part of the ÖFB national team for the 2026 World Cup. From a transfer perspective, he remains an interesting player. He only has one year left on his contract with Elche in Spain.

Affengruber Apparently Biding His Time

Now Elche has also commented on the matter. General Manager Pedro Schinocca would like to keep the Lower Austrian. "We have made him several offers for a contract extension," he explains.

However, the Austrian doesn't want to rush things yet. "He has informed us that he wants to wait until the end of this transfer window to extend," says Schinocca. It remains to be seen if anything else will happen.

Regarding the upcoming season, the general manager states: "He will not leave the club during this transfer period."
