Ex-Salzburg player rejects Russia offer - Is England next?
A former Salzburg academy coach could lure the Serb to England.
Petar Ratkov (22) moved from Salzburg to Lazio Rome in January 2026 for a reported 13 million Euros.
The striker was unable to establish himself with the capital club in the spring. In recent weeks, rumors of a possible departure have increasingly surfaced.
According to "TuttoMercato", there was an inquiry from Dynamo Moscow, but Ratkov ultimately rejected it.
A move to the ex-Rose assistant?
Another interested party could be more intriguing. English second-tier club Southampton is reportedly interested in Ratkov.
Tonda Eckert is at the helm there. The 33-year-old assisted Marco Rose with the FC Red Bull Salzburg U18s in the academy in 2016/17.
Last season, the German drew attention with the so-called "Spy-Gate." Because he had opponent training sessions illegally observed, they missed out on the playoff final for PL promotion by administrative decision.
