Barça extends contract with center-back
The Dane extends for two years and has to take a significant pay cut for it.
Andreas Christensen will remain at FC Barcelona.
The club has extended Christensen's contract, which was originally set to expire, by two years until 2028. However, the Dane is reportedly taking a significant pay cut.
According to "Marca", the 30-year-old could still receive substantial bonuses, and his salary could increase significantly, especially with ample playing time.
Several Injuries
However, the center-back has recently been hampered by several injuries. In the last two seasons, he has made only 24 competitive appearances. He suffered a cruciate ligament tear only last December.
Since Christensen moved to Catalonia from Chelsea in 2022, he has made a total of 98 appearances for the "Blaugrana". With FC Barcelona, he won three championships and one cup.
