Brawl, Double Red Card: Ugly Scenes in Inter Miami Draw
The match between Inter Miami and Philadelphia Union sees ugly scenes shortly before the final whistle.
Commotion in the MLS match between Inter Miami and Philadelphia Union!
The two clubs drew 2-2 on Wednesday night. Lionel Messi's goal for the temporary 2-1 (26th minute) was particularly emotional, as it was his first goal since the death of his father.
However, ugly scenes unfolded shortly before the final whistle. In the eleventh minute of stoppage time - which should have only been nine - Quinn Sullivan of Philadelphia and Yannick Bright of Miami clashed.
Two Red Cards
TV footage shows Sullivan going to ground in Inter Miami's penalty area. A scuffle on the ground erupted from this situation, with teammates eventually separating the two.
Then, Cavan Sullivan, Quinn Sullivan's just 16-year-old brother, also got involved in the conflict and argued with an opponent.
Both he and Bright were shown red cards and sent off. The older Sullivan brother only received a yellow card.
