Musiala: Career end? FC Bayern issues a statement
Concern for Jamal Musiala is dominating the German record champion. The club has now issued a clear statement regarding one scenario.
The final sprint of pre-season preparations at FC Bayern Munich is overshadowed by concerns for top star Jamal Musiala.
The DFB youngster collapsed for the second time in four days during the latest friendly match against 1. FC Heidenheim.
The 23-year-old attacking all-rounder had already suffered a collapse in the friendly against RB Leipzig.
After Musiala addressed fans and followers via Instagram on Tuesday, explaining that he suffers from so-called absences, his club has now also spoken out.
Bayern: Between Messages of Support and Worries
According to the "Deutsche Presse-Agentur" (German Press Agency), there is no fear of a career end or a similarly dramatic scenario at Säbener Straße. Accordingly, there are no indications that Musiala would be unable to continue playing professional football.
Bayern honorary president Uli Hoeneß spoke very openly to "Sky" regarding the matter. "Now with these two incidents on Saturday and yesterday, it is of course already a problem, primarily for Jamal as a person. Honestly, I go to bed thinking about him and wake up thinking about him."
Regarding responsibility management, the club has secured itself: "The specialists, the neurologists treating him, have assured us – in writing – that from their perspective, nothing prevents Jamal from engaging in high-performance sports. Since then, we have slept a little better at night. But now, honestly, we have to get used to this new situation. I am speechless," said Hoeneß.
Whether and to what extent Musiala will be available to FC Bayern in the coming days and weeks remains unclear.
