A 33-year-old man was found dead at Charlton Athletic's stadium on Tuesday morning. This was confirmed by the police, who have since launched an investigation into the circumstances of the death.

Last Saturday, almost 30,000 spectators had attended the second-division club's successful season opener against Derby County (2:1).

According to authorities, the man has already been identified, his relatives informed, and are being supported by the relevant agencies. Authorities initially did not provide further details on the discovery site or the cause of death.

U21 Match Relocated

According to initial police assessments, the man may have fallen from a greater height. However, this assumption has not yet been confirmed.

Due to the incident, Charlton's U21 match against Bolton Wanderers, scheduled for Tuesday, was short-notice relocated from "The Valley" stadium to the club's training ground.

Charlton Athletic extended its condolences to the family of the deceased and announced its full cooperation with the authorities in the ongoing investigation. The club also asks anyone who may have relevant information about the incident to contact the police.
