Top transfer for former ÖFB player Mahmic? The club boss speaks out

Ermin Mahmic was actually considered a great talent within the ÖFB. Before the World Cup, the 21-year-old changed associations and was part of Bosnia & Herzegovina's World Cup squad.

He impressed at the tournament, scoring two goals in three games. It's no surprise, therefore, that the Wels-born player could leave his Czech club Slovan Liberec.

Salzburg was linked

FC Red Bull Salzburg was linked. However, the list of interested clubs is long >>> Lazio Rome, Como, and Eintracht Frankfurt, among others, could reportedly envision a deal.

In Liberec, a departure for the ex-Lafnitz professional is expected. Just a year ago, he moved from Styria to the Czech Republic.

Patience is key

Club owner Ondrej Kania now tells "iSport": "For Slovan, it's best to be patient. We're not rushing anything. If we have to wait two or four weeks until Ermin and we receive a good offer, that's fine."

There have already been enough interested parties since winter. "Ermin and his family also need to be patient. This isn't like Ikea, where you go and just buy a bed. Clubs that want to sign him first have to sell their own players before they look for replacements," said the club boss.

Because the top leagues start later, it simply takes time. "I assume that there will be clarity in the first week of August," Kania stated.
