Miroslav Klose Gets Reinforcement from Ex-Barca Talent
Once considered one of the world's biggest central defender talents, the Senegalese is now set to play in the 2. Bundesliga.
Mikayil Faye is on the verge of a loan move to 1. FC Nürnberg.
Both "Sky" and "Bild" consistently report that the 22-year-old is heading to the Middle Franconians and that the deal is already done.
Few Appearances After Barca Move
In 2024, Faye moved from FC Barcelona to Stade Rennes for 10 million euros. However, in his first season with the French club, the central defender only made seven starts and 12 appearances in total.
To give the talent more playing time, Faye was loaned to US Cremonese in Italy in 2025. But in Serie A, the central defender only made eight appearances and will return to France in the summer of 2026.
Now, he is set to move to a new club again on loan. However, 1. FC Nürnberg has also secured a purchase option for the 4.5-million-euro man.
