Klopp new German national team coach? Decision reportedly made
After the World Cup, Julian Nagelsmann resigned as national team coach, and Klopp was quickly chosen as the ideal successor.
Talks between the DFB and Jürgen Klopp have been ongoing for several days – something both sides have already confirmed.
The 59-year-old is the desired candidate to succeed the resigned national coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Commitment confirmed, details still open
According to insider Fabrizio Romano, a decision has now been made in these talks: Klopp will be the new head coach of the German national team.
"Klopp has agreed to take over," writes Romano. The details regarding the long-term contract, the project, and his departure from Red Bull are still being discussed.
Glasner considered as Klopp's successor
Since January 2025, Klopp has been working at Red Bull as "Global Sports Director." As Romano writes, Red Bull has set its sights on none other than Oliver Glasner as the preferred successor.
However, the prominent figure among Austrian coaching exports is on the verge of a move to the Premier League.
