Hütter after Goal Fest: "An absolutely deserved victory"
In his competitive debut, his team celebrates a record victory in the DFB-Pokal.
"I am absolutely happy," explains Adi Hütter after his competitive debut with Eintracht Frankfurt.
And he has every right to be. In the first round of the DFB-Pokal, the Austrian's team steamrolled fifth-tier side SC St. Tönis. The coach was able to celebrate eleven goals in total. Furthermore, his goalkeeper didn't concede a single goal.
Eintracht took the lead as early as the fourth minute. Nine more goals followed before halftime. "Our team, starting with the initial goals, pushed the game directly in the direction I expected," says Hütter to the club after the match.
The second 45 minutes were much calmer, with only Chaibi scoring for the final 11:0 result. After this, the coach was visibly satisfied: "An absolutely deserved victory, also by this margin. I am happy to have confidently progressed to the second round."
Praise for Opponent
Nevertheless, he also found words of praise and encouragement for the opponent: "Regardless of the result, compliments to SC St. Tönis for a very courageous performance. They wanted to play along right from the start," explains the 56-year-old.
This weekend, the Bundesliga team faces the season opener against Union Berlin. Hütter expects a completely different game there.
