Confirmed: HSV captain seriously injured

Hamburger SV will have to do without captain Nicolai Remberg for a very long time.

The defensive midfielder suffered a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the Bundesliga match against TSG Hoffenheim, which HSV won 3-2 (Match report >>>).

Examinations at the Athleticum am Volkspark confirmed the fears. HSV officially announced the injury on Sunday.

The 26-year-old will undergo surgery shortly and will now be out for months.
