The trip to Leipzig was not worthwhile for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Adi Hütter's team suffered a 0:6 debacle against the Red Bulls on Saturday evening, with the Hessians already 0:2 down after just five minutes. Match report >>>

Speaking to "Sky", Hütter found clear words: "If you lose 0:6 away in the Bundesliga, you have to be ashamed of that. Especially towards our fans. It's also about the club. We can't just lose 0:6."

"Not fit for Bundesliga"

While they certainly had chances to score, the Frankfurt coach said, looking at the goals conceded, they were far too easy and cheap to concede.

"That's not fit for the Bundesliga. I'm very disappointed. Partially, I liked our attacking play, but we have to defend ten times better," said the Vorarlberger.

The same pattern repeatedly

The sixth goal conceded is symbolic of this, says Sporting Director Markus Krösche. "A player can run 60 meters across the pitch, no one attacks him, and in the end, he can even take a shot. We lack consistency and aggressiveness there."

16 goals conceded after five games is clearly too many, Krösche clarifies. "If you look at the goals conceded, you see the same pattern repeatedly. We still lack aggressiveness and activity in defending."

Work needs to be done on that - as a team, but also individually.

"Key players have clearly failed"

Captain Robin Koch's substitution at halftime was not due to physical reasons.

Hütter explains: "I also substituted Robin Koch because the performance of a key player was not good enough for me. For a key player, that was too little today. That's why I took him out. A key player has to be able to handle that too."

Striker Jonathan Burkardt agrees with his coach: "The key players clearly failed today. You have to be honest about that. We lose 0:6, and that's precisely when the guys who are supposed to hold things together are needed. We didn't manage that again."

After five matchdays, Eintracht has five points, placing them only two points above a relegation spot. A home game against 1. FC Köln awaits next Friday.
