Nkunku Hat-trick! Leipzig Thrashes Hütter's Frankfurt
The Frenchman became the match-winner against an inferior Eintracht. Adi Hütter's Frankfurt struggled to get going.
RB Leipzig celebrated an emphatic 6-0 victory against Adi Hütter's Eintracht Frankfurt on the fifth matchday of the German Bundesliga.
The match, led by referee Daniel Siebert, began with a shocking start for the visitors. After just a few seconds, Ezechiel Banzuzi hammered the ball into the net for an early lead, following an assist from Neil El Aynaoui (1').
Four minutes later, Christopher Nkunku extended the lead to 2-0 after a pass from Antonio Nusa (5'). Frankfurt then made the game more balanced, but Leipzig still made it 4-0 before the break.
Nkunku bagged his brace in the 41st minute, and just three minutes later, the Frenchman completed his hat-trick, simultaneously scoring his 50th Bundesliga goal (44').
No Mercy
Even after the change of ends, the hosts showed no mercy and played themselves into a frenzy.
Nusa crowned his strong performance with the goal for 5-0 after a pass from Banzuzi. The final goal was eventually scored by substitute Tidiam Gomis, who completed the half-dozen following an assist from substitute Benjamin Henrichs.
Leipzig set a club record with their eighth consecutive home win, placing them fifth in the table with nine points. Hütter's Frankfurt is only 13th, with the Hessians having five points.
