Decision Made in Power Struggle Between Hütter and Krösche

Rumors of an early departure for Markus Krösche as sporting director at Eintracht Frankfurt have gained momentum in recent days.

The 45-year-old himself fueled these rumors with a cryptic interview after the 3-3 draw against Union Berlin. When asked about his future at the club, Krösche said: "Let's stick to football." He then cancelled a TV interview with "Sky" at short notice.

Due to his recent coaching decisions – especially the appointment of Albert Riera, which is internally regarded as a misunderstanding – he is no longer undisputed. Furthermore, he is rumored to have a difficult relationship with the new and simultaneously old coach Adi Hütter. "Bild" recently confirmed such speculations.

Supervisory Board Urges "Unity"

On Wednesday, Eintracht Frankfurt's supervisory board convened for a regular meeting. During this gathering, Markus Krösche's future was also discussed. The outcome: The supervisory board continues to back the 45-year-old, and Krösche remains in office.

"We thoroughly and constructively discussed the sporting and economic situation, as well as the decisions of the past transfer period, within the supervisory board. There was agreement that we want to tackle the tasks ahead with great unity," explained Supervisory Board Chairman Mathias Beck.

Markus Krösche himself also commented: "The past transfer window was demanding and characterized by an exceptionally challenging market environment this year. Against this backdrop, with a total of 38 transfer movements and considering our sporting and economic parameters, we made the necessary squad adjustments. Our full focus is now on sporting success and a successful season. I am working with full conviction to achieve our goals," said the sporting director.
